Urban Kanga Portable Car Seat

$1,817.00
Tax included.
A portable, forward facing car seat for children from 9-18kg. The seat base can fold behind the seat back & fits in a backpack (included) or some larger stroller baskets. Weighs 3kg. Certified to European standard ECE R44.04 & approved for use by the Singapore Traffic Police. It's the narrowest car seat on the market.

One of only two taxi-friendly toddler car seats in the world (the other being the Cosco Scenera NEXT), the Urban Kanga is easy to use for taxis, Grab cars, school buses and rental cars - whether on a daily basis or while on holiday.

It can only be installed in forward facing seating positions with a 3-point seat belt (a lap-and-shoulder seat belt) and it has an in-built seat belt lock-off. It takes less than 30 seconds to install (with a little practice) and is easy to buckle in your child.

It's not approved for use in an airplane, but it can either be taken as carry-on luggage, or packed into your check-in suitcase for ease of travelling.

Will it fit your child?
The Urban Kanga can be used for children weighing 9-18kg, with a seated shoulder height of less than 38cm.

To measure your child's seated shoulder height, have them sit (without slouching) on the floor against a wall, then measure from the floor to the top of their shoulder.

Why is the seated shoulder height important? When a child is using a forward facing car seat, the shoulder straps must come from a position that is either at or above the child's shoulders. If the shoulder straps are coming from a position that's lower than the child's shoulders, in an accident, the child's spine can be forced to bend too much, with serious consequences.

We recommend your child uses a rear facing car seat for as long as possible. If you think your child has outgrown their infant car seat and they are younger than 18 months old, please read this guide on how to check if your child has really outgrown their car seat.

Will it fit your car?
The Urban Kanga can only be installed in vehicles with forward facing seating positions which have a 3-point seat belt. If you have a lap-only seat belt, take a look at the Cosco Scenera NEXT or Diono Radian.

The widest part of the Urban Kanga is the seat base, at 33cm. Parents often choose to use the Urban Kanga directly beside other larger car seats in order to fit three passengers in one row.

If the vehicle seat belt buckle is closer to the front of the seat than usual, you may find the Urban Kanga exhibits movement front-to-back. This is reasonably common and is factored into the safety design and testing process, however it is permissible to place a tightly rolled towel in the vehicle's seat bight before installing the Urban Kanga, to give the vehicle seat belt more purchase on the car seat. <image>

International Shipping

We ship around the world with DHL Express and Registered Mail. In our experience, DHL Express is an incredibly reliable service provider and shipments are handled by DHL Express personnel from beginning to end. Of all the couriers that we have access to in Singapore, DHL is the fastest shipping option humanly possible. We have found that local in-country postal services (Registered Mail) can be less reliable than DHL Express and delays should be expected.

How much will it cost?
When you reach the checkout page of our website, prices for your selected country will be shown. If you aren't seeing a DHL Express option, please double check your post code and address.

How long will it take?
DHL Express transit times are typically 1-4 business days globally, from dispatch date and we aim to dispatch all orders within 1 business day. Registered Mail transit times are shown at check out, but based on our experience, please expect delays.

Please note that estimated transit times are based on efficient processing at local customs checkpoints. Any delays at customs is solely accountable to the local customs operations and it completely beyond the control of DHL, the postal service provider and Plane Pal Asia.

Will I have to pay import taxes and/or duties upon delivery?

For orders sent by Registered Mail, the shipping cost generally includes prepaid taxes and duties so there should be no additional payment required upon delivery. Please note that each country's local postal service handles import taxes and duties differently and you may be requested to pay additional fees and charges. If you do, please let us know so that we can update this page for the benefit of other customers.

For orders sent by DHL Express, the shipping cost excludes taxes and duties applicable in the destination country and these will be charged to you, by DHL, upon delivery. Please note that import taxes and duties are the sole responsibility of your country's customs department and we have absolutely no control over the amount nor payment methods applied.
