Small businesses are really feeling the pinch at the moment. Now more than ever, we need to band together and support our local businesses (it doesn't necessarily have to be buying from them!) so we can stay afloat through 2020. I'd love to introduce you to my friends Toni & Anna from Lagom Kids. Lagom is Swedish for not too little, not too much, but just right, which is the philosophy Lagom Kids embraces in everything they do. Lagom Kids aims to clothe children in confidence by providing the best designs and comfy materials that feels just right.

What does your business do?
At Lagom Kids we create baby & kids wear up to five years old. Our brand features clean lines and comfy designs in natural fabrics. We believe in championing children’s voices and creativity to allow them to PLAY and EXPLORE the world with confidence. We want to empower them to make decisions for themselves and to choose what is just right for them.
How did you get started in the business?
Lagom Kids is a brand that began four years ago that focuses on baby and kid’s clothing wear. We have both been part of building brands in our previous work experience. Anna as a visual brand designer and Toni focusing on brand management. As mothers, we felt that there was an opportunity to create a brand that puts children’s voice at the centre of all our creations. A clothing line for children, based on how we can encourage play and exploration while feeling comfortable and looking stylish. We believe that play and exploration build confidence and empowerment that are important life-skills our children will need in this day and age.
How did you meet Elise?
We first met Elise at a Shopify Meetup event last year. Elise was there to share her successful eCommerce story with other Shopify online businesses. We were very impressed with her as while presenting she was confidently swaying her young baby on her chest in a baby carrier. When we received a Lagom Kids order from Elise, we recognised her name and remembered her from the event and decided to deliver her order in person to get another chance to meet up again.
What is life like for you at the moment, and what’s your outlook for the coming year?
We are taking things slower with the current COVID19 situation and re-focusing on getting our fundamentals even stronger. Dreaming about what initiatives and collections of clothing we can create for Lagom Kids that baby, kids and parents will enjoy.
How can we help?
Please engage with us on social media, follow us, like us, we would love to hear from you! Also look out for our next collection of baby and kids clothes coming your way! Keep us in mind for gifting occasions! We have nice baby gift boxes and you can also customise your own gift box and chose the items that is just right for you.
